Since then, she has attended Peabody Conservatory of John’s Hopkins University for Opera Performance under the voice instruction of Steven Rainbolt. There, she performed the roles of Naiad in Ariadne auf Naxos, and the Princess in L’enfant et les Sortileges and was a soloist in the Gershwin Review with the Peabody Opera Potpourri. Mrs. Angelo-Schiumo just made her debut as Musetta in Delaware Valley Opera Company’s production of La Boheme in August of 2009 which one reviewer called “the best opera DVOC has done yet!” Mrs. Angelo-Schiumo currently studies with the famed Soprano, Diana Reed and has kept up her acting chops performing in many Community Theater shows in Buckingham, PA and Hamilton, NJ.

Melissa is a classically trained opera singer for well over a decade with roles like Musetta from La Boheme under her belt, and Liu from Turandot, and Suor Angelica from Suor Angelica in process. She hopes to continue performing as a career and dedicates all her performances to her late Grandfather.
